News and Thoughts from the Master

Sometimes, there are various thing I want to talk about, but there it's either too many different subjects, or I don't want to dedicate a whole post on certain things. And, so we get these random posts!

First off, yours truly had his birthday on May 29th, but I didn't celebrate for real, till that Saturday, June 1. As has been the tradition for the last couple of years, I celebrated it at Duff's Brooklyn, THE greatest bar on God's green earth. I had a blast with some close friends of mine, and of course, the amazing crew at Duff's. I love this place! At the right, by the way, is the bar's owner, the always awesome Jimmy Duff!

In other news, I got the pro pass for this year's New York Comic Con! So, I shall be back giving you guys the type of coverage that you love to see here, from me and the Master's Minions! Expect LOTS of pics, my words, and hopefully more cool and fun interview, like last year when I interviewed Linda "Vampy Bit Me" Le

And, in the last bit of news about me, I recently joined Instagram. I had been very hesitant to join it. I, quite frankly didn't get it, but now that I'm on there, I'm really liking it! If you are on Instagram, and I'm sure many of you are, follow me. I keep adding some older pics, as well as new ones from my crazy and fun life. This is my profile: http://instagram.com/the_master_gio/

And, now on to my thoughts on some TV shows:
First off, a lot of shows had some amazing season finales!! Supernatural, Arrow, Bate's Motel, Grimm, and Orphan Black all had awesome ones!!

And, speaking of Orphan Black, I am so happy that they added a lesbian love story to it! Thanks to this my favorite clone on the show is now, Cosmia! While, I still love Sarah, the hot punk and lead character of the show, Cosmia just rules! Making out with hot French girls is highly approved by yours truly!

And, now even Syfy's Defiance is now in on the HLA (hot lesbian action)! They had two of the show's hottest hotties, played by Dexter's Jaime Murray and The Crow II's Mia Kirshner, hook up!! I've long liked both these babes, especially Mia! I hope things get hotter between them. I am EXTREMELY happy with the trend of more lesbian couples on TV. Please, please, please let this trend continue! It is the hottest trend in the fucking history of TV!!!

Hot Asian Girl of the Month: Camille Chen

It's June! Which means summer is finally going to start!! Which, of course, it means it's getting hot as fuck. And, we need a woman who is hot as fuck to be the June 2013 Hot Asian Girl of the Month. And, we most definitely have that in Camille Chen!!

This beauty was born on September 1, 1979 in Taiwan. She was, however, raised in the US.

She began her career doing the English dubbing for anime TV series like Lost Universe and Devil Lady.

She has been in lots of movies and TV shows. Though, I haven't seen any of them. That is until she was on American Horror Story: Asylum. I vaguely remember her, I think. I really only recognized her when she was on a much better horror TV show: Grimm, for the second season. She was in a episode dealing with a killer video game. She played Jenna and looked HOT!!!

But, it turns out that in reality, I already knew her from the State Farm commercial, where she looks sooooo beautiful!! Seriously, I fell in love with her and didn't even know who  she was until just now!!!

Obviously, despite only having seen her a few times on TV, she is a stunning beauty and one that needs to be more TV shows that I watch. And, definitely be in movies I care to see!!!

Adopting "Orphan Black"

First off, I wanna wish you guys and girls a Happy Easter! OK, on to the review:

Last night was the series premiere for the brand new BBC America sci-fi/ drama series Orphan Black. After the TV spots and subway posters had caught my interest I decided to give this show a shot. Glad that I did, cause I think I have a possible new favorite here!

The first episode started off with our lovely lead character, Sarah (Tatiana Maslany) seeing that a girl that looks just like her commits suicide right in front of her, by jumping in front of a train (reminded me of Suicide Club)! She soon discovers her name, Beth, and decides to live her life and pretend that she is the one that died. But, she soon discovers that this might not have been the best idea. Problems and complications arise and there is more to this meets the eye.

While, Sarah has not found out, yet, the aforementioned TV spots reveal to us that she is one of many clones. Beyond that I won't tell you anything else, as I don't wanna spoil the show for you. It's definitely worth catching and has a lot of potential.

The acting is solid, especially from the beautiful Maslany, who has one hell of a nice ass! She looks particular good as the punkish Sarah, more so in a tee of The Clash and her panties. Plus, she takes off said panties and shows off her ass and some great side boob! Combine the skin, with the adult language, and violence (aside from the aforementioned suicide, we get a splashy shot to the head), and this TV show righteously earns itself it's TV-MA rating.

The series, which is shot in Canada, has a mostly British cast, though Maslany is, herself, Canadian, from Regina, Saskatchewan to be precise. The first season has a total of ten episodes, and since I'm already sold, you can bet your ass, I will be watching them!

Monday Night Is Horror TV Night

WARNING: SOME SPOILERS THROUGHOUT

With the premiere of Bates Motel last night on TV, Monday nights have now been cemented, in my head, as THE night for horror fans to enjoy television. Before this I had leaned towards Sundays and their double-feature blast of Dexter and The Walking Dead. But, Mondays give us three shows instead of two!! Those being: Being Human, Lost Girl, and the aforementioned, Bates Motel.

Starting at 9PM, we have the US version of Being Human. Now, I have never watched the British series that inspired this show, but I do love the American version. Last season remains a high mark for the series. This season has been quite good, as well, though. It started out a little slow, but the last few episodes have really racked up the intensity.

Basically, the story of a werewolf, a vampire, and a ghost living together trying to be, well, human, has befitted from the addition of the lovely Nora (Kristin Hager) as a member of the household and as a part of the main cast. Also, the story of a sickness killing vamps, Sally (Megan Rath) being bought back to life, and Josh (Sam Hunington) losing his wolf (only to regain it!), has been very captivating. I am loving a lot of the drama and fucked up situations occurring in the series, right now.

Also welcomed are the easy on the eyes females. Aside from the aforementioned Hager, being more alive now, has given Rath the chance to look HOT! Man, she is one sexy zombie! Also, yummy is the addition of Deanna Russo as a love interest for our vampire hero Aidan (Sam Witwer). Those eyes can make anyone fall for her!

And, I have to say the last 15 minutes or so last night had me on the edge of my seat! Zombie kids are hungry and must die!! Nice old werewolf gets attacked by vampires!! Holy shit!! Where is this all leading to?

Them at 10PM comes one of the shows, I am most obsessed with: Lost Girl!!!! The story of a sexy bisexual succubus who saves the world from evil supernatural villains and terrors, this show has rapidly become a true favorite of mine. Last season, basically two combined into one, was great and this one is keeping right on course.

Bo's search for self-discovery has been the main theme of this season. And, last night we bared witness to a possible love triangle between Bo, Dyson (Kris Hold-Reid)- a cop werewolf, and Lauren (Zoie Palmer)- the human doctor, returning to the possible forefront (thought to be fair it never really left us). While, I like Dyson, I remain a member of Team Doccubus, the fan name given to the lesbian relationship between Lauren and Bo. I've always been a fan of girl-girl love. You need only to look through the archives here for proof. Seriously, why would I want another boring hetero relationship, when hot lesbians are so much, well hotter?!

But, the series is not only great for it's sexiness. No, a recent episode where Bo visited her adopted mother was very moving. It made me cry. It showed that beyond the babes, sex, lesbians, humor, gore, and monsters, it has a real heart. There is so much to this genre-bending show, that I could go on forever talking about my love for it.

Also, points must be given to it for adding a new character in the form of "dark" fae (the name given by the series to supernatural characters) Tamsin, a hot blonde cop who is also a Valkyrie. It's hard to add a character to a series where one already knows and loves the other characters, and get one to like him or her. But, this series is so good, that it accomplished that excellently! I would like to see her with Dyson, but last week got me think if she will make it a love square (instead of a triangle, get it?) with Bo.

Finally, at 11pm (OK 10:55 last night, to be exact), I had the first visit to Bates Motel. Now, I know it aired at the 10, but I caught the replay. You didn't think I was gonna miss Lost Girl did you? Anyway, taking place in modern times this is a sort of prequel to Psycho. The time frame and what happens makes this out of continuity of the series, though.

When, I first heard of this, I was like, "Uh why do we need a Psycho prequel series?! Didn't we get a prequel in the form of pt. IV? And, that was really, really middle of the road shit." But, having the beautiful Vera (Orphan) Farmiga as Norman Bates' (Freddie Highmore) mom made me say, "Well, I may watch it for her. Maybe." The eventual previews got me more curious, as did word of moth.

Last night's first episode was dark and well acted. This show has a lot of promise. Psycho pursists, think of this as an alternate universe. Understand, that I'm a huge fan of the first three movies, and that the first and third film are personal favorites of mine. Yet, I enjoyed the first episode, quite a bit.

Farmiga is so beautiful, that I was captivated by her every time she was onscreen. What a MILF! I am in love! I'm, also happy for Mondays,as they no longer are to be dreaded! Let the horror continue on the first day of the week, for here on in!

The 1st Annual Master Gio Awards

Oh 2012, you had some truly great moments, including some amazing music, movies, geek stuff, and babes. Then, again, there was also some awful fucking shit. I've recently been playing with the idea of doing a bunch of awards (not including best babe, movie, and album, since I cover those in my top of the year lists, anyway) to celebrate the best and worst. I also figured I could have some fun doing just that, and hopefully, you also have fun reading my picks. Enjoy and let me know your thoughts, so let us begin with the shitty stuff, so as to save the best, for last:

The Bad Shit of 2012:

Worst Movie of the Year (That I Saw)- V/H/S/- Let's begin by saying that this is the worst film, by default, as I try my hardest to avoid bad movies, but of all the shit I saw this year, this one was the crappiest one. That said, I can assure there are worst movies out. Thank God, I didn't see those. Anyways, after much thought this award goes to V/H/S/. This one had a good first story as a babe is revealed to be a demon, a crappy second tale of a couple terrorized by a stranger, a godawful, piece of shit tale of digitized killer (that is one of the worst things I have ever seen and would easily win this award on it's own), a good tale involving Skype, a good story about a haunted house (but it's basically another Paranormal Activity), and a shit eating wrap-around story. Plus, it got a ton of hype due to the talent behind it. That actually pissed me off, even more as it is worth none of that hype.

Most Overrated Film of the Year- Dark Knight Rises- Man, I can hear the complaints, right now. But, sorry this film is a load of overrating of a mostly mediocre film. As some of you may recall I originally gave this film a 3 out of 4 star rating. Despite the fact, that if you read the review I had very little nice to say about it. And, guess what? Since, then I hate this one even more! In fact, I feel I overrated it with that rating. While, I still don't think it's a bad movie, per say, it's one of those movies, that the more I think about it, the more I dislike it. I mean, since that review, I think of more shit that pissed me off, not the least of which is the ridiculous scenes involving all the Gotham cops being sent to the sewer (why in fuck's name would anyone do that?!) and the one where they run to battle the baddies head on. What the fuck is this the Revolutionary War?! Fail that shit!!!

Worst Hero in a Movie- Batman in Dark Knight Rises- Bitching and whining will only earn you this not very cherished award. Seriously, Batman was a fucking emo pussy. So much so that I wish Alfred would have bitch-slapped his pathetic ass. Bats needs to grow some balls back!!

Horror Trend that Needs to Die- Zombies- Ya know I would never have thought of writing those words even up to an year ago. In fact, I would wanna say found footage shit, but nope, it's zombies. When The History Channel has zombie docus and there is a movie advertised as the Twilight, with comedy(!), of zombie movies (the upcoming Warm Bodies), its time to shoot the trend in the fucking head!! Yes, I realize there are still good zombie movies being made and The Walking Dead  rules, but you get my fuckin drift.

The Why the Fuck Is this not on Blu-Ray Award- (Tie) [Rec]3: Genesis and The Loved Ones- I love my blu-ray player, and while I still buy DVDs (mostly when I have no choice in the matter), I prefer blu-ray, of course. Well, I don't get why any new release would only be on DVD. I know some hated [Rec]3, but I thought it was fun. But, hey even if it sucked it still should have been on blu-ray. And, don't get me started on the amazing The Loved Ones, which gets very little extras on the DVD, which had gotten shelved some three years. Fuck Paramount!

The Channel Epic Fail Award- G4- You long time readers should may know my love for Attack of the Show. Well, it finally closed shop thanks to G4 who got rid of that (and X-Play) in preference of their new upcoming GQ inspired programming. Say what?! Uh, the appeal of these shows (and G4 in general) is that they are aimed for the niche audience that is no actual channel devoted to. And, how many men do you know whot read GQ these days? Shit, I ain't read an issue since like 2005, and that was only cause Jessica Alba was on the cover. Sure, AOTS wasn't as great as it used to be, but still it was entertaining. Remember kids, this means no more Candace Bailey and Kristen Holt (I could give a rat's ass about Sara Underwood). Fuck you, Comcast (the parent company of G4, in case you don't know)!!!

The Kick Ass Stuff of 2012

The Hottest Ass- Jada Stevens- I've recently been ranting about it, but it's hard not to, her butt is truly an amazing gift from the heavens above. It's big and perfect, and best of all, since she's in porn, so she shares it with us and gets anal love. Truly, can we ask for anything more? I think not!

Best Boobs (clothed)- Katie Featherston- It's a shame she keeps them covered because, good God they are amazing!! Even if you hate the Paranormal Activity flicks you gotta love her cleavage. If I was a demonic ghost I would haunt and want to possess them too! Though, admit ably, I wouldn't go snapping people's necks with her hands, I would probably make her look at her boobies in the mirror and, well you can figure out the rest...

Best Boobs (unclothed)- London Keyes- I love natural, big boobs. I LOVE Asian girls. Combine them both and well you know I may have to ask that girl to marry me! London continues to star in stroke worthy smut and gives us ample chances to drool all over her boobies.

Porn Trend of the Year- Girl/ Girl Movies- While, I'm done with some of the parodies (there are still some worth seeing and that catch my interest, but some of those movies, make me wonder who the hell needed porno version that?!), the trend of more and more girl/ girl stuff is an AWESOME one. The fact that many seem to be made by companies that dedicate themselves to only releasing lesbian flicks is fucking great! Aside, from the great Girlfriends Films, there are other studios like Club 59 and Sweetheart Video. Many of these are subsidiaries of bigger studios like Elegant Angel and Mile High Distribution, respectively. I've long been a fan of all girl movies and scenes, so to me this one of the greatest things. And, the casts for many of these movies are nothing short of AMAZING!!!

Breakthrough Performance in a Horror Film- Gretchen Lodge- While, the movie, itself, is a good, albeit very flawed film, Lodge gives a performance of a lifetime in Edwardo (Blair Witch Project) Sanchez' Lovely Molly. She comes off as sympathetic, sexy, and scary. I was blown away by her performance. I see great things in store for her!

Best Image Change in a Movie- AnnaLynne McCord in Excision- Before seeing this movie, I never thought much of Ms. McCord. Too prissy to ever interest me, she made such a HUGE and drastic change for one of the very best movies of the year in Excision. In it she plays a weird and disturbed teenager who wants to go into medical school, but fantasizes about surgeries and necrophilia and is into blood play. She gives such a shattering performance that is miles away from her Beverly Hills 90210 role, that you have to stand up and notice. In fact, I fell in love with her solely from this.
Runner-Up- Yvonne Strahovski in "Dexter"- She used to inspire the same feelings in me that McCord did. But, she plays a serial killer and boom, I'm in love! In all seriousness, though, seeing both these ladies going against type is awesome accomplishment. Kudos, ladies!

Best Nude Scene in a Movie- Dear God No! Madeline Brumby's Striptease- There some good nudes in this insane and awesome movie, but Madeline Brumby's striptease is my favorite. It's a memorable scene that had me drooling, happily!

Best Gore, Overall, in a Movie- Dear God No!- While, there were lots of good gore moments in lots of movies, the kick ass Dear God No! had the best amount and the most over-the-top, including a dude getting choked with his own guts!! You just can't fuckin beat that!!

Hottest Female Cast in a Non-Porno Flick- Man with the Iron Fist- This fun and bloody tribute to old-school kung-fu movies had a drool worthy cast that included Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung, and a ton of other Asian beauties. Basically, it's what heaven would look like to me. Sadly, though, they never got nude...

Blu-Ray Release of the Year- Jaws- One of the greatest movies ever made Steven Speilberg's Jaws made an amazing debut on blu-ray looking and sounding KILLER and having ass -kicking extra features, the best of which is the amazing docu "The Shark Is Still Working". Props to Universal for giving this horror classic a definitive release!!

TV Show of the Year- Dexter- This was a hard one to pick. As there were amazing seasons this year, including Game of Thrones, Grimm, and The Walking Dead (both of those continue this year, of course). But in the end, I have to give it to this jaw-dropping and captivating season of Dexter. The season finale alone warrants it consideration. Throw-in the plot twists and revelations and this one just totally held my interest. The only fail came from the AWFUL storyline of Debra being in love with her adopted brother, Dexter. That's gross and stupid, but the rest of the season? PERFECT!!!!

Superhero team of the Year- The Thunderbolts (Thunderbolts #1)- Lead by General Thunderbolt Ross (AKA the Red Hulk and guy who hates the Hulk), and comprised of Marvel's heroes that kill, the Punisher, Venom (by way of Flash Thompson), Elektra, and Deadpool, this is the single most badass team in superhero history.

The It's more Addictive than Crack Video Game Award- WWE 13- Ever since I got this as a Christmas present, I can't stop playing it. Good controls, creation abilities, graphics, and the Attitude Era stuff makes this a most own!!

Toy Line of the Year- Pop! by Funko- Seriously, I LOVE this line!! After getting the Leatherface and bloody Daryl "The Walking Dead" Dixon toys, I need to get more and more!! Cute and wonderfully detailed, these are the first toys in ages I've started collecting.

Well that's it as far as these awards go, hope 2013 has lots of great stuff in store for all of us!

Dead Like Me on Chiller TV

Chiller TV airs a lot of old genre shows. Some of I've seen many times over (Friday the 13th: The Series, Monsters, etc), others I never needed to see to begin with (Wolf Lake anyone?!). But, I rarely get excited about them reairing a show. In fact the last time I was excited was they reaired the underrated Harper's Island. Well, I'm real happy to see them showing Dead Like Me a cool, quirky TV show from Showtime. While, I caught a few episodes here and there and liked what I saw, I saw enough of the show, until now.

I actually saw the movie from some years back first. The universally hated film is suppose to tie up the series. I liked it, but bare in mind, I hadn't seen the show, up and until then. It's quite possible, my opinion would change on the film if I saw it now. I then caught a few of the early episodes on SyFy. Sadly that channel is to busy airing shitty movies with bad CGI animals killing people to air more of this show.

Well, their sister channel, the aforementioned Chiller, starting airing them a week or so ago, and baby, I am in like Flynn! It's airing on Tuesdays, which is fine by me, cause I ain't going to classes right now, I rarely go out on that night, and there ain't shit to watch on TV anyways on said night.

Basically the story is this, George (Ellen Muth), a very sarcastic teen, is killed by meteorite and chosen to be a reaper of souls. She doesn't like it, but is taught the ways of reaping by her fellow, well, reapers. Leading them is Mandy Patinkin as a father-figure. It should also be noted that the former Noxzema Girl, Rebecca Gayheart is in it (yes, I know she leaves the show eventually, but...). I mention her, cause well she looks hot and proves to me she can actually act. Something I seriously doubted after seeing her performance in the mediocre slasher flick, Urban Legends.

Muth is amazing in her role. Not only is she really cute, but her she plays her character with a lot of heart. There are moments of real pathos from her, as well as some great moments of humor. The series itself has some wonderfully dark humor sprinkled throughout.

Like I said, I'm really early into the series, so there is not much more I can say or want to say, at this point. But, I would love to know if any of you guys and girls are fans of the show? Oh, and no spoilers, please! Thank you!
